Love 'em Tigers!

Truth to be told, i'm pretty much your average macha, except that I come with a big tank of laziness to last the longest living Japanese citizen. My resume includes boxes of secondary exercise books which the last date of homework done was in the month of March and my lab reports have pretty much quarter of the contents of what my course-mates submit.

So why am I here boring you with my thrash history?

I hate writing blogs. Too darn lazy.

Blog created in June 09, yet only now comes my very first post.

And this post is going for a cause.

A cause for the world's largest cat (ligers and tigons, sorry you're not pure Mother Nature's creation), the Tiger (Panthera tigris).

I have been, am and will always be fascinated by these majestic creatures. Being a Tiger myself (to be precise a Fire Tiger, according to Chinese Zodiac), it is extremely disturbing when come this year just days before Chinese New Year, we hear of a tiger found dead in Bukit Tapah FOREST RESERVE (BTFR), Perak (The Star, Feb 8 & Feb 11 2010).

Poaching tigers in the year of the Tiger. The irony of life.

This despicable act has been going on for decades now, even after tigers have been listed in the world’s endangered species.

The nine natives behind the death of the male tiger in BTFR are definitely going to face the court (MalaysianInsider, 19 Apr 2010) but whether the sentenced carried out would be heavy or a slap on the wrist is still quite unclear, seeing as two of the natives are RELA members.

The real culprits however might escape judicial punishment. They punish the manipulated natives and allow the ‘sly snakes’ to slither away.

The ‘sly snakes’ who claim the tiger body parts can enhance human health & strength (!! what a joke) and consumers are the ones who should be reprimanded.

It’s really sickening to know that there are still such people out there. We destroy the tigers’ habitat, greedily grab their food and water resource for our own leisure consumption and now we hunt and torture them?

I wonder, if the ones responsible were treated like this by another foreign species, how would they react?

As so called superior creatures of the Earth when compared to other species, we have been gifted with the ability to THINK and therefore come the responsibility to protect all other creatures.

We are not God to decide what stays and what goes.

I hope this blog have the authorities’ attention.

You know what to do and you are paid for it, but you’re not doing it. Do you sleep well at night knowing you have crossed the boundaries by afflicting pain on other creatures?

What’s the purpose you pray every day?

Start by doing the world a favour.

Let’s end this uncivilized barbaric mentality.

For those concerned about our tigers, let your voices be heard. Spread the love friends.
